Cedar Leaf Essential Oil
Cedar Leaf Essential Oil (Thuja occidentalis), is traditionally used in skin washes and baths for skin problems like psoriasis and infectious skin diseases such as scabies. Used in hot compresses and steam baths it is alleged to ease rheumatism, arthritis, and achy muscles.
A piney, camphoraceous and slightly fruity aroma. Used in aromatherapy, it can be emotionally uplifting. Care should be taken to not overutilize, as excessive intake could prove toxic.
Caution: Not to be used in pregnancy. The oil contains thujone, which has a high toxicity,so the herb should only be taken in small doses for short periods of time. Thuja should be used as prescribed by a qualified practitioner.
